Professional Experience
For over a decade, I have worked with individuals, groups, and families to change and grow in response to experiences of trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship struggles, and life transitions. Drawing on evidence-supported strategies that include motivational interviewing, eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and solution-focused approaches, I have helped them to cultivate the knowledge, skills, and strategies for building the kinds of lives and relationships that fit with their hopes, goals, and values.
In addition, I have worked for over twenty years as a trainer and educator. I have provided in-person and online trainings to students, professionals, and organizations throughout the United States and Canada on developing their skills, working with diverse communities, navigating service systems, and ethics in profession work. In addition, I have travelled to New Zealand and various cities in Europe to provide trainings and be trained by professionals from across six continents. I am an active member of two international professional organizations dedicated to promoting high level evidence-supported services: the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). I am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR provider and Consultant-in-Training.
